Jon Mortimer has worked as a professional photographer for over 15 years. He learned his photographic craft through working as a studio assistant at the then biggest fashion and portrait studio in London, Click Studios. It was there that he worked with and learned from such photographic luminaries as Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier and David Sims. From these beginnings he went on to became a freelance assistant for the likes of Enrique Badalesque, Annie Leibovitz and Tim Brett-Day.
Since turning professional he has worked regularly for The Observer Magazine, The Independent, Eurostar and Adidas amongst other clients as a fashion, advertising and portrait photographer. For magazines around the globe Jon’s photographic subjects have ranged from musicians to Hollywood stars to motorcycle repairmen in the back streets of Jaipur. His sitters include John Malkovich, Ralph Steadman, Beth Ditto and Damian Lewis.
Jon is currently working on a new exhibition entitled: Worship, to be shot on large format digital equipment and media.
